The Story: Before the First King

Before the truce between water-bloods and fire-bloods made a world worth inheriting, there was a judgment. A sentence handed down from a height no mortal eye has ever seen.

Lucifer Of Ravens, the most powerful fallen angel in the history of the Norophim Realms, the Leader of the Sons of Darkness (SOD), and the darkness that predates every throne, was detained by force. Not destroyed. Not cast from existence. Imprisoned  in a dark place so perfectly concealed that the very knowledge of its existence was stripped from every mind that had ever held it, except two who vowed to never reveal its location. The Realms breathed. The age of light began. Throne were watching and declared the matter settled.

But heavenly watchers were wrong.

Lucifer left behind his brood. Two broods, born of his blood and bound by his darkness: the Dragon Kindred — ancient, scaled wyvern creatures who carry the fire of their father’s original fury, who remember what came before and cannot unknow it and the Brood of Ravens, the half-blood human children of a fallen god who were born immortal and mortal enough to walk among men and dark enough to unmake them.

For ages beyond counting, they have waited. They have watched the Realms forget their father, diminish his legacy, bury his name beneath the comfort of peace. And at last, from their midst, rises the one who refuses to wait any longer:

Mephistopheles — youngest son of Lucifer. Half-blood prince of the Ravens. A mind like a siege weapon and a grief so ancient it has calcified into something that resembles purpose. He does not rage. The Rebellion of Ravens is set in the era before the events of Paul R Tucker’s Brood of Angels: Book I — a prequel chapter that illuminates the dark history of the Norophim Realms and establishes the mythological stakes that define the entire saga. Readers of the novel will recognize the world, the factions, and the forces at work. New audiences will find a complete, self-contained story that opens a door into one of the richest dark angel fantasy universes currently being told.

The series deepens the mythology of the Dragon Kindred, expands the history of the Shapeshifter castes, reveals the theological mechanics of Lucifer’s imprisonment, and introduces Mephistopheles, a character whose shadow falls across every event of the main saga.
